As Told by Leekee:
I have a love for photography and I’ve been doing it for about three years now. My work ranges from weddings, to shows to parties and other social events. I pretty much do all types of photography. I’d have to say, though, that my favourite style of photography is creative photography, integrating it with a lot of scenery and beautiful landscapes. I post my photos on social media and one thing that pleases me greatly in doing so is how happy I make people when they see them. Sometimes when I’m shooting, and taking these beautiful pictures the appreciation I get is what keeps me going. Even though I love the landscape and scenery photography, I have an interest in portrait photography which I've recently started exploring (the photography of people with little focus on the landscapes).
Apart from being a photographer, I’m also a cricket umpire which I began over the past two years. I’ve been umpiring games and I really enjoy doing that as well. One day I hope to get to the highest level possible and that goes for both the photography and the umpiring. It's more than safe to say that I'm walking in the footsteps of my Dad who is my biggest inspiration; he too is an umpire and was once a photographer. My hope is to surpass his level of success in both fields.
My quest to continue in my Dad's footsteps has led me to a few major achievements I’m looking forward to in the near future. One of them is to become a professional photographer. In my opinion, I’m still in the amateur stage; I’m still learning a lot every day. In terms of the umpiring, I took an exam last year, which will allow me to do regional cricket, as opposed to only being able to do local cricket. I will get the opportunity to travel to different countries that engage in cricket which will definitely be a great achievement for me. (Shane got an exceptional 81% in this exam which was the highest score amongst the Barbadian participants that took the exam)
I’m currently in my third year of studying Meteorology. After university is finished I’ll be looking forward to working at the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology or the Meteorology Office at the airport.
As you can see I have alot of aspirations and I’ll be working hard to make sure they happen.
